He married Alletta Rodman (b. 1815/6 of Westchester Co., NY, died 13 October 1890 and d/o William and Nancy (Tilley) Rodman) on 26 October 1833, Wolver Hollow, NY. Jacob^6 died 21 June 1900 Glenwood, NY and was bur. in Brookville Cem. in parents' lot.

Children: John^7 H. Van Wicklen, b. 14 May 1836, L.I., NY. He first married Harriet Tooker 13 March 1859. He later m. to Sarah E. Van Wickler. He died 14 April 1931; Sarah^7 Ann (Sally) Van Wicklen, b. 14 March 1839, Brookville, NY and d. 20 October 1920; buried Youngs Cemetery. She married Edward Baker of Oyster Bay, NY, son of Wright and Eleanor "Ellen" (Lockwood) Baker; Edward^7 Van Wicklen, b. abt 1840, L.I., NY. He married Emma Booth (b. abt. 1854); Charles^7 Van Wicklen, b. 1841, L.I., NY. He married Ann Eliza Mott, and he died 19 August 1909, Brooklyn; William^7 Rodman Van Wicklen, b. 1844, L.I., NY. and died 1905--buried in East Newark Cemetery, Newark, NY. He was from Macedon Center, NY at the time of his death. He married Esther Purdy (1844-1920) and she buried next to William in East Newark Cem; Emma^7 Van Wicklen, b. 13 September 1855, L.I., NY. She died 19 December 1860 at age 5 and is buried in grandparents lot, Brookville Cem; (note: Previously, the information on this page listed birth and death years for William Van Wicklen as 1860 and 1911 respectively, with burial next to father, Jacob, in Brookville Cemetery. However, we now have a photo of the grave marker for William Rodman and Esther (Purdy) Van Wicklen from the East Newark Cemetery.)

Hempstead, Queens, NY lists Jacob Van Wicklen, 41, master shoe maker, with Arletta, 43, housekeeper, John H. 24, shoemaker, Sarah A, 22, no occ., Edward, 18, shoemaker, Charles, 18, shoemaker, Harriett, 17, William R., 16, boatman, and Emma, 5. All b. NY (Harriett is most likely Harriett (Tooker) Van Wicklen, first wife of John H. Van Wicklen.)

1870 US Census for N. Hempstead, NY lists Jacob Van Wicklen, 57, Shoemaker, NY with wife Alletta, 52, keeping house and son, John H. Van Wicklen, 36, shoemaker.

1880 census, for Roslyn, Queens, NY -- Jacob Van Wicklen, 61 (b. NY as were his father and mother), shoemaker; wife Alletta Van Wicklen, 62 (b. NY as were her father and mother), and grandson William Van Wicklen, 21 (b. NY as were his mother and father), oysterman. This "grandson" is William Henry Van Wicklen, son of John H. and Harriet (Tooker) Van Wicklen. 

(OBTR 8-353) Charles Van Wicklen, harness maker, Private in Civil War, b. Oyster Bay 1841. In 5th Arty, Co. E. enlisted 30 Sept 1862, 3 years. NY w. 75,25. Discharged August 1865. Resided Roslyn, NY. Died in Brooklyn 18 Aug 1909 at age 64, yet dc15663 shows LIs Jacob and "Arletta Robins" Van Wicklen, shoemaker, d. at 16 Bedford St., buried Greenfield, Hempstead.
